With dry erase you just have to find the right methods to make it work, and also not care about line fidelity too much. Always have fun throwing up whiteboard drawings.

    > Word, doing simples is essential, but the the stuff I said about flow, letter weight, and negative space also isn't bullshit or for the birds. It's the next step above doing basic letters.

Flow, letter weight and negative space, may you go into more detail about that, i dont know what letter weight and negative space means. may you explain please.

Weight is basically the size of your letters or extensions. For the most part you want them to have consistent size. If one side of your piece is bigger than the other then it's weighted to the bigger side and can throw it off. Negative space is the space in between the parts of your letters. Some letters have way more negative space than others, like T for instance. Generally, you don't want to leave big empty gaps in your piece unless it's crucial to the style you're going for. You can either tweak the letter structure so there's less empty space between the letters or you can fill that space with extensions. Filling negative space is actually one of the major reasons for doing extensions.

All true. Dont let negative space be an enemy though. Learn to balance it, and let it play into your 3d. If you aim to take away all negative space, it can make you lose depth if your adding 3d to your piece. Also one of the main reasons to step back and do simple letters with out extensions once in a while. After you master your negative space without extensions or add ons, when you do add them you will most likely have better composition.
