Why the fuck would you sketch individual letters on their own like that, they will never flow together with other letters if done like that. What is that giant-ass "arrow" coming off the letter? It's bigger than the letter itself, good luck fitting any letter next to that in any visually pleasing manner. Whatever, im just assuming this is some next level fuckery by urbanophile again..
Better a foolish wit than a witty fool Tuke... I'd rather intentionally do a wack looking arrow and succeed than try and do something sick and end up looking lame. Especially considering this is the first real attempt I have made at graffiti lettering in over 10 years.
"Although what looks good is somewhat subjective there are naturally some things that just look wack" Like a an accessory arrow that is bigger than the stand alone letter it was meant to accompany.
NorCal, definitely drop the arrows and focus on letter structure and flow. Your structure isn't terrible but it still needs plenty of work. Extensions need to compliment your piece, adding flow, filling in negative space to make your piece more balanced, etc. They need a purpose besides just attempting to make a piece more stylized or complex. Your extensions are just hurting what would otherwise be a decent piece if they weren't there. There's nothing wrong with arrows, but a lot of times it's good to just go without them. I personally hardly ever do arrows anymore. A bit of messing around from me:
Thank you! I really do appreciate your advice/critiques. I see what you're saying though.details like extensions need to accentuate what's there, not become the focal point.
