How would you go about trying to get In a crew but have never seen or met any of the writers? Or do crews tend to not let random people in?

It's over rated. Don't try to be down, it's kind of like going around and asking people to be your friend. Stay getting up and do it well enough and people will want to get up with you. Let your work speak for itself. Also this:

Writers are dickheads bro. why the fuck would you wanna meet em? Imagine meeting me. Yeah, you probably wouldnt want to. But seriously most writers will come to you somehow someway if you have enough of a name. Every real crew I've ever pushed I've been told to push it. Dont join too many though.

Not necessarily, but I feel where you're coming from. Again though, let your work speak for itself. You'll meet people in the course of getting up.

Legal walls and related spots are also a good way to meet people with some degree of safety.

While it's not my scene personally, you could keep an eye out for graf shows/events and meet people there, although even at a show, especially at a show, use caution in who you talk to and how much you reveal.

Again, I feel you. But try to balance the desire for connection with the other side of the equation. You can't walk up to any crew and just get in because you asked or wanted to. You have to ask, what kind of crew just takes on anyone? Last thing I just thought of, but besides focusing on your graf skills make sure you're on point w/ the other aspects of the game, like don't do something like leave a half empty can with a cap on it at the spot, don't be on social media being like I write X, here's how writers and cops can find me. Have your whole game on point, ya dig?

TBH, my paint buddy found me on Instagram, so maybe try looking up your town and "graffiti" as a tag and follow some people if you use Instagram. If I think about it though, I'm not really sure how she found me because I don't remember tagging the location on any of my pics lol.

IG is sketchy bc I think the police can get your personal info from instagram. It might be safe with a VPN but i dont trust it still.

The police will try to google search any name they can find. So, my advice, be careful no matter what. Whatever name you use don't link it to your real name. Don't carry your books if you're hitting the streets getting up. Police will take that and try to figure others out. But Nerd makes the best point. Don't trust it.
