I'm not sure if this would be the right thread to post this and get advice. My vantage point is lower left side. All my other letter seem fine. I always have a hard time finding the 3D curves, like you see in letters 'R' & 'Y'. What is the best way to approach this? Can someone provide me with a visual example.

I’m not the biggest 3D guy but before I sketch I can usually see it in my head. sometimes it’s a more 2d and I don’t have to worry about 3D as much. If a good 3d is part of the vision then I try to keep that in mind when I’m designing the letters.

Here the way your letters are … I wouldn’t have gone with a lower left 3d. I would have done a straight right 3D.

Here 3D off bottom of R look off, the top of the C isn’t connected

sometimes try doing a longer 3D if a shorter one looks awkward where it naturally ends. The bottom 3D of tbe A would look better not be so clogged up there if the 3D was longer giving it some space. You want the 3D to help frame and contrast the letter fill.

the open space loop of the R should just be a filled in 3D not worrying about perspective there bc it’s just all filled in 3D

I do a lot of long extensions going East-west to help frame the letters and set up a 3D to lay behind the letters. Usually a fill will be warm colors so 3D cool colors or vice versa

lots of decisions to make w a 3D

illfunk does the best 3ds here .. his 3ds always compliment his letters

Thanks for the tips. It's trial and error for me. I like to experience different angles using 3D. I usually practice my own letters in my spare time. But like the saying goes...Practice make perfect!!

    1.a kitchen knife

    2.shoe dye mop nib

3.a different mop container(changing the size of the mop)

A:just carve the nib stem around with the knife so the nib and it's stem fit to another type of mop.

To modify the nibs stem and mop.

The tag could be better,i admit .but I seen worse and seen better. the idea is good ,I mean the tag with a flare ,over a throw-up is g.the flare goes trippy if you notice the tag. On a scale to 1 to 10,1 being the toyist, I say.........a 2.
