I asked because the ink recipes thread has one example with acrylic paint and angelus shoe dye(which i presume is alcohol based).

I dont think it is acrylic paint, seeing as he thins it with paint thinner and it's for painting leather.
That aside, things with different bases can and do mix, just depends what they are.
The majority of things wont mix and may separate (e.g. ink and white spirit) but some will mix enough, when shaken, to be used, which is what i think is going on in that mix.
The shit looks pretty sick though, its kinda 2 things muddled up though so i dunno how well it actually works in practice.
Someone was asking about heating inks....
I use shit from a chemistry set lol, works well.
Got a full distillation set up out of it, the sets are worth checking out if you're tired of getting ink everywhere and mixing shit in water bottles etc, yer mix's will look a lot more impressive in beakers n test tubes :D
    Or maybe even on walls.......................

    lol A chemistry set ehhh...
My parents already think I'm doing something fucked up, come downstairs and there's brake fluid and alcohol and ink all over the place, smells like a methlab. I'm sure a chemistry set's the perfect thing they need to see in the basement hahaha.
    I'll look into that though..

Edit: Just saw that it actually says acrylic on the paint bottle, i think you all should know that not all acrylic paint is waterbased. Looking at it, that mix may actually be pretty good (not talking about staining) depending on what the leather dye's made up of.
Does anyone actually research any of the shit they say or just say it anyway?
Wikipedia, whilst somewhat unreliable, has fucking tonnes of information to do with inks/paints.
