freight train graffiti is good for pictures and shit. the only book i would recommend from the 70s is getting up by craig castleman, its more words than pictures and is a great history of subway graffiti in nyc, the important pictures are in there though.
    book of tags is okay
art of getting up is cool
street sketch book is dope if you like street art

Art Of Getting Over is the only graffiti book worth getting besides All City.

it speaks truth, insiders(written by Espo, he got arrested the day after it was released for putting his real name on the front, yes it was intentional, hes not that stupid) view, no hype or bullshit, tells it how it is, doesnt say it started in New York or even stray from anything but graf.

the stories in it range from hilarious (JA dressing up as a DEA officer and robbing one of ESPO's friends) to disturbingly tragic.(REVS writing his life story on the subway tunnels)

oh and of course, Subway Art...the most stolen book of all time. any beginner HAS to read that book. kicks the toy right out yer skull.

i would say the art of getting over is probably the best book available. all city is another good one but is too all over the place for me...

subway art is like a graffiti for dummies...
i found this odd, but actual most stolen book form barnes and noble, is the christian bible, what the fuck is up with that?
