People are getting kicked out of SROs and low income/subsidised housing because the olympics are coming and the city is trying to make as much space for high-end condo developments as is humanly possible. So many more people on the streets with nowhere to go, homelessness and poverty and substance abuse rates are just climbing sky-high, especially in places like the DTES. I walk through there a lot putting up pasteups and it's just getting worse and worse every day. Like your signature says - Fuck 2010. but really it's just a symptom of a massive shift in priorities on a really wide-scale societal basis. People are just getting moved around from street to street and alley to alley and they have nowhere to go but down, nothing to hold onto but the promise of that next high. Fuck it makes me angry and sad and disappointed in humanity. What the hell is wrong with us, that we've let things go this horribly wrong? So many wasted lives.

ive stepped on so many needles around DTES, i think it would be hard for one to pierce through a shoe though
the gov is spending money buying mouthpeices for crackpipes bcause they burn their lips and spread hepatitis c and it cost them more money for the vaccines than the mouthpeices thats kindof ironic
