I miss the days when Hardcore was fast... now grind has to fill that void for me as well... ...seriously though, whats up with Metalcore being renamed hardcore, and why was the real hardcore forgotten?
Because all of these faggots have created sub-genre after sub-genre until it all became a watered-down piece of shit.
I think it all failed when the modern breakdown came about. Or perhaps when Hardcore kids started listening to At the Gates...
Who the fack are those guys? If you're gonna call yourself a hardcore kid than the only bands you need to hear are: Bad Brains, DRI, Suicidal Tendencies, Siege, Infest, and Heresy.
dude a few of those bands that glak mentioned are keeping the real hardcore music still somewhat alive. i mean i defintly agree with you about bad brains and shit being extremley important hardcore and what it has become to day, but go check out outbreak, down to nothing and the other bands he mentioned. furious styles anyone? terror?
if you want to stay in the 80's you can. those bands are more punk than hardcore. i mean yeah, it's good to know the roots of the music you're listening to, but that means nothing if you don't even try to listen to the music itself. i like most of the bands you mentioned, but i also like some of the bands the other kid mentioned. stay open-minded to the music and try to find good new hardcore.
heres a mix of some shit http://youtube.com/watch?v=DY1o7j5QZHc http://youtube.com/watch?v=wiGlDRQdXTM http://youtube.com/watch?v=Bce-GGBLh1g Japanese hardcore http://youtube.com/watch?v=EiYVtxY0R4Y&feature=related http://youtube.com/watch?v=1wkLSRyisyU&feature=related http://youtube.com/watch?v=9xb7UqDICVU http://youtube.com/watch?v=Mq2FAaW5Ic4 http://youtube.com/watch?v=nnyC8Wqivi0
bro, definitely got love for bad brains, cro-mags and the such. but like others said there is new hardcore, those bands are dead and gone. and jalley, sorry no NYHC for me. don't like that style...but i do like furious styles
i wish i could go. there's no way i'd eve get lucky enough though. and, infest is the band that got me into PV
just wanna point out that the very first hardcore bands WERE punk ie bad brains and all plus alotta bands im seeing here (not just this page but the whole thread) are technically post-hardcore. hardcore=sub genre of punk but now its sort of stemmed outta that
This guy's on point. More recent hardcore has stemmed out of punk, but I still think it's gotta have the intensity of the bands I mentioned. Like session said a lot of the shit in here is post hardcore. Too bastardized from the original to be called the same imo.
