Yeah man that piece by salski is nice! Congrats. Also thanks for the vote classic, there's alot of people I can learn off here. Bring on the next one..
Homies were the shit. In my past life as a graphic artist, my homeboy and I had them all over our office. There was this grocery store down the road that sold them and we'd just get truckloads. I have no idea where those are now. I could make a fortune on eBay...
Eeek, I have an idea but, I realy didnt want to do another two-pager but, I can't sacrifice my work because of laziness. I fought that ish long enough. Ill get cracking today. Look'n forward to seeing everyone's submissions
I know I complained in a previous post about this word but, I was fortunate enough to develop a simple plan. That plan was to get a profile reference shot of one of my favorite anime characters ever, (Guts) and then design the letters as if they are coming out from the back of his armor. The result was some super morphed letters which really came to life when I was rendering the sketch (which I never do), and I kept on rendering it, to the point that it became a finished pencil piece but, I wasnt super satisfied and wondered what would happen if I just colored over it with my alcohol based markers. So, with my heart in my hand I started coloring and quickly realized that not only was I able to see the under drawing through the marker but, I was also able to create textures via the marker streaks. It was an incredible feeling. I felt like I discovered America or something. Now, Im not saying this is some new technique I discovered, all Im saying is that I just discovered it. Anyway, Im not sure how many or if anyway cares about this extra adlib but, I read a lot of comments and I see the questions that are asked and I like to be very transparent about what I do and who I am. And I am someone that understands all of which you have gone through or are going through artistically. So, with that being said... Dont ever be scared to experiment because you are afraid to fail. Just figure out why you failed and apply it to the next piece. If anyone is interested is what the pencil piece looks like check this video. Its part of my livestream for this piece but, you should be able to jump around the timeline. That video also shows when i apply the marker for the first time https://www.instagram.com/tv/CVoVR4SAZhV/ As mentioned before I do these live on my - www.instaggram.com/artbyvigo page And finally head over to my Traveling Blackbook Project. The current artist Rays Against the Machine will be done in a couple of days and will be shipping it to the next German artist. Still have some time before it come back home. There are another six artists in Europe that are scheduled to receive it before it returns to me so I can document the pieces - www.instagram.com/thetravelingblackbookproject
Nice job man. Props for taking a gamble and it worked out. I really like the colours as always. I take gambles all the time on different styles and methods. My limitation at the moment that I don't have the ability to write what I see in my head. With practice, correct practice I will..
Thanks a bunch and I hear you. That takes some time to develop but, what has helped me a lot in that area is to do research, gather references and think about a lot. I find the more I think about what I wanna do before putting pencil to paper improves the overall process. Good luck and keep on trekking.
Piece turned out dope man. I also took some inspiration from the english version of the manga title for mine
