Can somebody please tell me how graffiti is a form of self expression? I dont get it. I do it because I love it. Its all I think about. But how am I expressing myself buy spraypainting a wall. What the fuck does that even mean?
what do you mean elcs? if you put youor own style and thought into your writing, how are you not expressing yourself? the only way to paint a wall without expressing yourself would be to like put up an obey stencil or some shit.
I dunno, i guess i am expressing myself under that definition. I just never thought of it that way. When people say: "Riding my bike helps me express myself" or cooking, or sports, or writing...i just never really got that. I would just roll my eyes and think "whatever dude". I still dont really get what it means to "express yourself". But apparently i do it...
well if you got something to say... even if it's just 'I was here' or 'I got an original style' you are expressing that thru graff. Riding a bike is a little more sumliminal, but if someone gets extreme joy out of it, they may feel that they are expressing their joy for the out-doors or the wind in their hair or some shit like that.... Thats the thing about art... it's a form of communication, hence expression. And if someone feels passionatly about sport/cooking/writing, they may look at it as an art-form.
i get it being expression sort of, but how is it art yall are sayin you do it cause you love art, but if your bombing it aint art, if your just in your room sketching that might be art but you aint a writer. and if you do legals and stuff in your backyard that aint graff either .
Because it is fun as fuck. Going bombing is like equivilent to sex. Its a interesting culture too. I love hanging out with other writers and exchanging info and ideas. Also, being up really hard in your city is a great feeling. I dont think its really fame, because the only people who can recognize your shit is other writers and in a city of 12 million people only about 100 or so are writers. (maybe more, idk).
I do it to express myself, but also to piss off the people around where i hit. But I also do it cus my town needs brightening up by adding a few tags here and there, plus there ain't any other writers i know about around here. I do it for the sake of rebelious being & to warn people about the KaOS Theory
I do graffiti cause i have nothing better to do... well actually, thats why i started. But now, i do it to express myself artistically. I love the rush, and the fact that its not very popular. Also, i find that graffiti is a whole new world; i learn new words that i never knew before, can techniques, i learned about fat caps, skinny caps, different brands of paint and markers, i meet new people(writers). Bombing is like a big underground culture.
the rush man..nothing can compare to the feeling of adrenaline running through your body...andd it gets addictive
cuz i just wanna have something to do, and unlike the ramones, im not into the whole glue sniffing thing
i nulled its kinda alot of them its the feelin of going out with your crew destroyin shit with style, its underground....1,000's will walk past your work and every one of them will notice it but not know who it is...its a hobby...its life
