I started writing about 4 1/2 years ago. my friend got me into the whole graffiti state of mind in 9th grade, and i started sketching and drawing alot. about 2 years ago, i started painting with a close friend and my ex-girlfriend (both whom i got into graffiti). we started "The Rude Crew", which lasted for about a year. after that, i kept painting by myself, and i joined 2 crews (UAS & VUK) about a year ago.

First off I'm going to say I'm not a writer, because I suck at anything artistic. Actually, I suck at everything but that's a different problem...

I've loved graffiti for as long as I've been knowing myself. Don't really know why, I've just always found it fascinating. Way back when I was in elementary school I used to think there was something wrong with me for liking it, because people would tell me it's illegal and shit. Eventually though I figured that somebody must like it, because somebody does it, and they wouldn't do it if they didn't like it.

There was a high school next to the grade school I went to, and the wood shop for that school was in a garage area that faced our playground. When the door was open, you could see someone painted "SAM" on the back wall in graffiti style. It looked very nice. My dumbass would go back there occasionally and just stare at it. One day I think someone notice me staring at them and shut the door.

There isn't very much graffiti around here, but I always look for the chance to see what I can. I've been known to harass people to drive down different roads or go to certain places just because I know I'll see graffiti there. Used to be a meat packing place with graffiti on it here and I used to go to the video store behind it just so I could see it.

The best graffiti I'd ever seen was during a trip to Europe. Actually, graffiti was the last thing on my mind after landing in the UK, and getting on the Gatwick Express train that would take me into London. As I got closer to the city, my mind was blown by the graffiti artwork painted on bridge trestles, underpasses, and those big concrete walls. I didn't think about anything else the rest of the day.

The bet graffiti artwork in my opinion is in Paris, France. A couple of the peices I saw while on a train still stick out in my head today.

I guess what I want to tell you, is that other graffiti writers aren't the only people who appreciate your work. My guess is there's more people out there like me who can't write but still have a passion for it. It's a shame you all are so marginalized when it takes a lot of dedication to do something like that.

Oh yes I am a noob and sorry for fucking up this thread but I wanted to say this

I started when i was in middle school. Nothing serious just destroying every notebook and school book i got my hands on. I kept doin it off and on in high school, going through many different alias then finally began painting a bit like a year ago then stopped. I just now moved to florida from wisconsin (MILWAUKEE WHAT!!) and got a 3rd shift job. on my days off im bored as fuck and u can guess the rest. But i bless my passion for graff on my ADD which viered me from the boring mainstream shit and into a world i would have never seen.
