to the first part of that obviously you dont have the Numark CDX's ive had them for about 2 yeats now, there actually vinal on the tuble itself in the size of a normal record allowing you to change the tightness of the grip along with pitch controll then like u said going into effect like pitch lock where i can speed up the beat from 100bpm to 200 bpm then lock the voice in a chipmunch style then dropping it back down to 100bpm while still having the voice set at the 200bpm sound but ON BEAT with the background at the orginal 100Bpm that along right there is showing how fast turntablism is evoling some people call it cheats but fuck that tto me Dj'ing isnt all that its hyped p to be Production is where its at, dont get met wrong scratching is fresh and all along with juggling and all that jazz all the way down to just plain old belending track into a long ass set but whatever thats here nor there liek u said it all depends on what your looking for if your looking to have the people around u just nodding there head or gettin crunk with hypness because of the things your turning out to there fav track while playing with the bult in samplers and hitting over 100 effects then that hooker up to the kaoss pad2 like i have running through the Numark DXM06..... FORGET ABOUT IT!
fuck yeh i produce. music is my passion. wonder how many of yous have heard of dubstep... freshest sound happening right now imo. check this http://www.myspace.com/lycaonproductions
I uh...get down on that wax shit. I got a set of Stantons. Still tryin to master the crab scratch. Im not that great but I just fuck around, havent really done anything serious with 'em.
my buddy dj's and i have no clue about nuffin, but he says i should start idk i can scratch pretty damn good..im gonna get around to making a sample sooner or later im tryin to get a good basis on a reverse bass song example: beastie boys paul revere help anyone?
lol turntablist, are masters of the art of digging which makes such heads like dj shadow, madlib, mf doom, fat jon, lots more masters of there art

time to bump this bitch back to life new beat We Gotta Go i got some more if anyone wants to hear anything else, just a lil sample of some shit i been workin on and i just read all this about about vinyl vs cd my 2 cents i gotta stick with my vinyl for makin actual beats, getting breaks, finding samples, doin shows mostly vinyl but i do have serato for when i go do parties. im a scratch dj, so there is nothin i prefer more than vinyl, sure you can scratch with the cds but its not the same, diff feel, the lag, the sound a whole buncha shit. BUT the CDXs are the shit and i fuckin love them feels exactly like your scratchin with a record.
http://www.guitarcenter.com/shop/product/b...l_sku=101663375 just picked that up because i am doing a lot of travelling between albany and nyc these days and transporting tables can get hairy. i gotta say, i bought this as a strictly practice package but it is definitely worth every penny. decent motor, nice pitch, mixer is not great but it gets the job done, and they are a fun set. i havent read through this thread, but anyone who said these are garbage is flat out wrong. i would never do a show with these, but its a good deal.
hey i need some help..... i was start spinning and shit but i have no clue about it.... im int o hardcore techno and gabber.... what would i need 2 mix shit? what are some good programs and turn tables? and any other info i could get would be muchly appreciated
You would need... two turntables, mixer, amp and speakers. All the cables and leads should be supplied in what ever.... Its mostly Phono for bedroom set ups. A dude about 2 posts up posted a nice starter set up. I would recomend you get that or somthing like it. No programs needed, unless you want to record, which Audacity in my opinion is the best. Download audacity here
I would personly say Technics are the best.... hence-forth why I use two 1210 MK5's. You dont really need to be splashing out alot of money on technics. Numark, technics, vestax, stanton, gemini Etc etc.... Are all generly big names here in the UK. Just keep away from belt driven tables and always go for direct..... Do a bit of research, ask around etc, you may even be able to pic up a second hand setup.
it all depends what your using the tables for but the numarks in general are made well, ive got 2 ttxs myself the only thing i dont like about them is the weight. justsomeguy for techno i would just get cd tables or somethin basic like numarks or stantons if you dont wanna drop a lotta dough as far as audacity its a good program but def not the best to record in
im really into RTC.... rotterdam terror corps and i wanna make shit like them..... and im willing 2 drop quite a bit of cash for what i need but i mean i dont need top of the line shit right now
Yeah, numark do good tables. I got a mate who uses the TT 500's. (one lower from ttx's), great torque and cheap. But yeah, audacity aint the best, but its free. Does the job. What program you use then avos?
if you got a laptop then ableton or traktor are good apps to use, but if yr spinnin other peeps shit, then decks is you...
