Bretto, dunno which part of my question that applied to you as well but if it's the male can problem I've got a tiny update.

You can get cap adapters, apparently they work pretty well. Butchershop.com.au sell them. I've just ordered some and when they get here I'm gonna figure out how the fuckers work and then make some because they are extremely overpriced. I'll post up a tutorial if I figure something out.

them Montana Classic cans are a male valve system.
buy some female classic caps and see if it works. if they dont sell them on ebay or to someone here
    http://www.mtncolors.com/
*they do ship international to the kid who says they dont
    __

If your talkin about the new painters touch cans. who cares. the spray comes out great. good for fades

drill/melt a hole in the cap that indicates the color on the can. figure a way to press the tip. the whole in the cap(of the can) works as a stencil for the paint.

that's all i'm going to say, the rest is trial and error.

oh shit, i meant the cap that indicates the color (like on krylon or rusto, etc), not in the actual tip. haha.

    Pretty much.

Bretto, yeah dulux isn't bad paint, it's about $8 here at it's cheapest, and a decent range of caps fit it (astro fats  haha)

But it would be nice to get a decent set of male caps to fit an export, or if someone would bring out some decent female caps.

Doesn't matter what caps I try on exports they always seem to spray about medium thickness and high pressure. I've cut female caps apart and there doesn't seem to be anything on them to regulate pressure. I'm assuming that the slit on a male cap is what regulates pressure and the 'dot' on the cap regulates the spray width. It's hard to tell from my disecting if there is anything on a female cap that regulates pressure, so they're pretty much going full tit all the time.

With the new painters touch coming out as a male can I'm thinking (well hoping) there will be some new caps coming out to suit them and hopefully they'll be compatable with exports.

Double posting to give this a bump.

I bought a couple of cap adapters (male cans to male caps) off the butchershop. I'm gonna go over them a bit, might be a little long winded. It may help out some of the Aussies/NZ'ers and to the Americans considering them for the new rusto.

First of all, I'm real sorry to the dude who makes these, it's like a hard kick in the nuts when someone gives your product shit, I know what it's like.

Basically the cap adapters are just a piece of brass pipe that's been drilled on one side to fit the can and one side to fit the cap, it looks like they've put it in a lathe and recessed one side of it, the only reason I can see that they've done this is so that you know which side is which.

When you put the cap on it it makes the cap sit about 15mm higher than usual, it's a little wierd/uncomfortable but possibly one could get used to it.

When you put a cap into it, it seems to shave some of the plastic off the stem meaning it will probably reduce the life of your caps.

The way it sprays is pretty shit.

There's still no way for it to regulate pressure so it's going full nut all the time. The only thing that will restrict pressure is the hole in the dot of the cap.

I tried a massive range of caps with it from NY's, Rustos, a bunch of euro skinnys and fats. They all seem to spray the same size though, about medium thickness give or take a bit depending on the cap. I tried Astros/pinks/oranges/silver fats and they're no where near as fat as usual. The skinnys weren't too bad but still there's waaay too much paint coming out. Possibly all this had something to do with my can control, I'm still pretty toy but I tried a lot of stuff with them and still not much luck.

All and all I think these are really overpriced especially since they serve almost no purpose at all.

Hope that was of some help to someone out there, if anyone knows of a way to make these things work better I'd really appreciate if someone could let me know.
