Wait, seriously? That's some McGyver shit there. Is there a tutorial on it? Or is it pretty straightforward enough that I can figure it out on my own?
Take a sponge....cut a strip as wide as your thumb, and roll it up to find the perfect fit so it fits PRETTY snuggly into the opening...now, hold it in the rolled position....cut a piece of straw like 1 cm long...make a small hole in the center of the sponge....this will be the bottom of the nib....and make sure it doenst pierce into the other side....now stick the straw into that hole....then take some sock, a big circular piece....and place it on top of the nib (opposite side of straw) and cut it so the sock covers the whole top and sides of the sponge...but goes like 2 mm down past the sides of the sponge...now super glue/tape the sock like that....done! Now, put that in the nib opening of selected container, and leave it sticking out the top a little bit so you can actually write with it....then superglue it into the opening....done!
Ah, I see. I'll give that a try. It's good that the envelope moisteners are cheap and easy to get, I don't have to worry about fucking up too bad. Thanks for the tips, I'll mess around with some stuff tomorrow and post what I got.
I will. I'll also try mixing up some ghetto krink to use in it. I should be able to find everything already here at the house, I'll post pics with the results.
Yeah Razor take all the credit! But so this post isn't me crying to Razor, I'm getting a mop from Smooth that has a pump system. Crazy shit right? Should be here soon.
craft felt is my friend. you can always find a use for it in a marker. folded up for solid soft nibs, or you can use 1-3 layers to replace mini mops/ bingo styled nibs.
like i said i dont whos idea it was. but i do give kudos to whichever one of yall did think it up. um this is teh markers thread, so has anyone tried teh otr circle tip yet?
Yeah, I remember reading somewhere that the circle tips sucked. They were all streaky and shit, like they didn't come with enough ink. And on an entirely different note... I've been inspired to make a mop even smaller than the envelope moistener mop. I have everything I need, so I think I'll post up what I have once it's done. Something's wrong with me, I've been like a fucking mad scientist lately.
If your nib is comin all streaky and stuff, its probably cause your ink/paint isn't thick enough.Or your nib is possibly too thick. If so,try jabbing it with like,a pin or something
I think the nib's too thick, because I mixed some black oil paint and black drawing ink to thin it out. The mixture's fine, just none is coming out. I'll fix that at some point, I'm thinking about just getting off my ass and getting some felt. Or trying the sponge/sock/straw nib.
Anythings worth a try I guess. But if you don't resort to a sponge/sock/whatever, first try making the nib looser and then go to your next choices
Will do. For now, though, I have to make a trip to Staples and Michaels, I need to get some supplies.
hey hop off me man. this is teh markers thread and i asked a perfectly legitimate marker question. so dont be bringin no beef in here.
Alright, my mini-mop is finished. Though, I heard of the 'info network', and wondered if this thing would be best saved for that... Let's say the mop I made is almost half the size of a pentel white, drips like a fucker, and the line width is one finger wide. What do you say, Razor? Should I save it for the network, or post it?
i dont kno of any who have access to this fabled "info network" besides razor. i would think it would be very underground.
The info network is Me, Razor, and Bizerk And post the mini mop or whatever, just let people see it/make it.
