i always take my board with me and thats my excuse yea its noisy but who says you can't pick it up and strap it on your skate carrier back pack whenever you get near a spot. besides theres no sidewalks where i live just rocks so the best time to skate is 2am.
All you gotta say is....oh hello officer, i'm walkin home because my boy and me just got in a huge fight and i was supposed to spend the night at his place, so now i gotta walk home because my mom is sleepin, and the bag should have like a shirt on top of the paint, not only if a cop looks in it quick, but it isn't as loud walking.
I think he means can they search you just for looking suspicious. It depends on the law where you live, but i'm pretty sure they can't search you unless they catch you in the act, or if you're right next to wet paint and you have the same color paint on your index finger. Although you could have just touched it to see if it was just done, but they probably won't buy that one. Just don't give them consent to search you if they have no reason for it and it will be fine.
***** when shit like that happens they detain you untill they find the dude and then question you down at the station about what happened...not a good idea, it happened to me.
a lot of you guys talk about searching with probable cause. hate to break it to you, but that only applies to adults. minors always give cops probable cause. you're minors, you're up to no good. the law really only protects those of us who can vote, buy lottery tickets, and go off to die in iraq.
well im fucked coz im 14 so if a cop sees me his not gunna let me go home he would have to atleast gimme a lift home. oh and dont make this mistake cops will ASK if they can search your bag and if ur not lisening ur probly gun say yeh soo say no you need a warrent SUCKAA CARNT FOOL ME THAT EASY
chances are they'll search your bag even if you say no, on grounds of "probable cause" that you could have something that could potentially threaten their lives... ah, loopholes. my uncle was a detective for 25 years, I've seen so much bullshit it'd make your eyes turn brown. If you're under 18, and out at night for ANY reason, and a cop sees you, you WILL be stopped, you WILL be questioned for some period of time, and 99% chance you WILL be taken home, curfew or not. They're required to make sure you make it home safely. It's part of their whole helping-the-public public image bullshit campaigns. And before you can get in that cop car, you need to be frisked and searched for anything that can potentially harm the officer. See the problem?
^^that sucks. while i was readin it i was thinkin "ill just ask the cop for a ride" but then you said the last part when the cop has to check you to be safe. that really screwed me over. my guess is hide whenever you see headlights? i dunno it sucks haha
if you live in a quiet town or a small suburb, hiding when you see headlights isn't a good idea. People might be awake, see you duck every time someone comes by, think you're a thief, and call the cops. Then you not only have cops to worry about, but cops specifically looking for you, who think you're committing a much worse crime. Damned if you do, damned if you don't...
so conclusion is....either way,..your screwed...just pray that cops arent around while ur walkin the streets i guess.
yeah, or just act calm and hope he thinks you're an adult and doesn't ask for id. I mean, I AM an adult, so I go that route (snicker), but for you youngin's, just try to dress like a college kid, I guess, and not a punk high school kid. Slight differences, but every little thing helps. Think of it as "suburban camouflage"
In Arizona I've been out at 1 or 2 am with a backpack and I'm very rarely stopped, and never searched. Even though my backpack has nothing illegal pretty much, they don't know that. Every once in a while cops will ask where I am going, just say coming home from a friends house and tell them where one of your friends lives they're not gonna like call them and ask if you were really there...
just say your going for an early morning jog and your wearing a backpack because your training to join the army.
in the u.k they cant search your bag without a warrant,until your 18,but they dont tell you that obviously.use it when you can
