Chances are cotton will not work. I am thinking you are talking about Cotton balls? Yea, too soft..

As is with all cotton, it has small fabric particle type things that will snag on anything and rip right out of there..

    Steal chalkboard felt from school?

    Can always Rack another One..

that is why I abuse markers when I rack them, if they are worth my racking, perfect.

If not, atleast I did not spend any money.. :p

they're ball bearings. also known as BBs. They're not special, go to the hardware store and look, you'll find em.

I use small smooth stones, personally. shit like quartz that's mad cheap or free depending on where you live.

I wanted to use those, metal BB's, to save space.
I find marbles take up more space, taking away from ink capacity.

^^true. but i only use them in mops..i dont really notice the difference.

reason why i used the marbles now is that once i put bb's in thier and they got stuck in the valve of the nib and got jammed. hardly any paint was goin threw so i switch to marbles =D

I am hoping I dont have this problem but thing is... When the marker stands up (mop in this case) is it somewhat shaped like an upside down cone, so I doubt that while writing on the wall, holding the marker horizontally, that the BB's with get stuck between them..

I have not had the problem, looked at the pump valves and the spaces are just not large enough for it..
