gorilla biscuits & fugazi...nice. Also, don't know why people keep bringing up choking victim and leftover crack. As much as i love them, they aren't really punk, they're ska(listen for the ska clicks and the offbeat guitar chords).

they're like ska punk. not true ska. and a really heavy punk influence. plus LOC shows are just off the hook

    and for reference

choking victim, leftover crack, morning glory, and the crack city 7 are the same bands

leftover crack morning glory adn choking victim are all banned form playing in public places in NYC so now when the play like washingston sq park and thompkin sq park they play under teh name Crack City 7

Watch the Decline of Western Civilization. Circle Jerks, The Germs, Black Flag. Its pretty dope.

And yes, we all know Minor Threat is the bomb. As well as Bad Brains. And Fugazi. And LOC. And Choking Victim. And NOFX.

Check out Negative FX/ Last Rights. Yeah, theyre pretty hardcore.

    booya.
    Now they're 100% sellouts.
I listened to Against Me! since they were on Plan-It-X Records. Thats how I discovered them actually. This is WAAAYYY before they went mainstream. They started sucking with Searching for a Former Clarity. Everything before that is good shit. Vivida Vis, Crime, and Reinventing Axl Rose. Good shit.
Then they started sucking, signed to Sire Records, and then became complete sellout hypocrites. Fuck Tom Gabel.

Apart from my Against Me rant, I'm more into crust. All bands previously listed are good, but I talking Aus-Rotten, Behind Enemy Lines, Caustic Christ, Nausea, Anti-Product, Antischism, Avskum, more good stuff... Amebix, Conflict, Crass, Discider, MDC...

    doesn't do it for me.

    someone mentioned old AFI

they only real punk stuff was answer that and stay fashionable, shut your mouth and open your eyes, and very proud of ya

i like everything up to art of drowning but i can understnad why people dont. and everything after that was like a cocksucking party.

and jetblack said nofx so i figured i'd just put thi out there. i really really really really dont like nofx. idk why, i just cant fuckin stand them.

and before anyone talks about the casualties, the unseen, or strike anywhere, jst dont bother cause they fcckin suck too.

fuck crust, that shit's the #1 killer of good local scenes in america right now. A bunch of fashionable fuckers that buy shorts covered in patches for $70 off ebay and then hang out in front of shows with the excuse that they don't have any money to get in, then when you're leaving you see them passed out drunk in a parking lot.

    fuck crusties.

with that being said Crass is one of my top 3 bands of all time, Conflict is awesome, and Millions of Dead Cops is certainly not a crust band.

yeah you don't know what crust is.

crusties don't care about fashion. they don't spend hundreds of dollars to buy plaid bondage pants, boots, distressed shirts, leather jackets, pounds and pounds of metal studs and spikes, patches, buttons, and hair color.
Thats not crust. Thats whatever you want to call The Casualties.

Crusties hold house shows, always wear the same clothes, which usually come from thrift stores or old as hell shows, don't wash them, don't wash themselves, tattoos and piercings perhaps, hair is usually dreaded and not colored or spiked. Smoke. Drink a lot.
#1 Killer of good local scenes?
haha. Crust is basically underground punk and is what is keeping punk alive.
I say again. You don't know what crust is.
