dont really have nosy parents, more like a nosy roomate. he asked to borrow somethin and i told him its in the cabinet thing right above my closet. he starts reachin up to get it, notices some paint in my closet and starts pullin it out like whats this, and starts diggin around tryin to find more shit back there. he's always buggin me bout why i got so many markers, and one day i had a drawer half way open he just starts pickin up shit in it.

 

My parents are chill about that kind of stuff. I just leave all my shit out and they think I'm doing canvases and they let me do my walls. I think even if they knew I painted more than canvases, they wouldn't really care because my dad came back and my mom told him I was on probation for painting as a joke and he was like "welll...that sucks"

 

i read the first page of replies to this thread, but not the rest, so i dont know, nor do i care if the topic is still "nosey parents."

but, my parents dont go through my shit, dont ask questions, and dont care. if i get caught, its my problem, not theirs. so they have no reason to worry. im 20 years old, so they have nooooooooo say in what i can and cant do. they know ive been an artist since i was like 11.

but why did most of the replies i read on the first page go something like..

"man i caught my mom/dad goin through my shit, wtf!"

fuck yes, my mom "cleans" out my room every week looking for fuckign crack and heroin needles.but when she finds paint she just thinks im doing a school project or sum shit

my parents are fuckin artists too so they accept that i'm a writer although my moms don't like that i do it, she looks at every piece i do and she thinks its the coolest shit ever, but they don't really care about what i do cause i'm "responsible", so being a writer and livin with the parents is pretty chill

 

my grandma goes through my room all the time and finds my stash, she just threw it away too.

my mom used to by my brother paint and it was cool but just as i started writing he gets caught and found guilty so now my mom doesnt want that to happen to me. Parents who seach rooms and stuff are fucked up i hav like 30 cans sitting around my room and she doesnt even notice

 

they see graff and say "you know what would happen if i found out you were doing that?"

 

"id go out and do it bigger."

 

my rents are mad chill about it, but my mum gets mad if my paints not in my paint rack ahah

 

my parents know i bomb. mom buys me paint, only tells me im gonna get myself in trouble, then dad comes out freightin with me n the boys
