I think etch is for the graffiti VANDAL. It's not really great for the graffiti artist. In my perspective.

I use a product like this on metal. Haven't used it on glass,i think it has another, smaller tip screwed in the back for glass. We are vandals anyway. if your worried about your name getting hot for etching do it where cars cant travel.
Okay, I have a question about etch, but first of all, let me make a couple of things clear so I can hopefully get a legitimate fucking response....I am an experienced writer (6-7 years), I am first and foremost about BOMBING and VANDALISM. I see no point in hitting non-high visibility areas unless you are just practicing. I like to hit spots that are inaccessible to buffers (heavens) and/or highly visible. I can get armour etch CREAM in my area, but I can't find etch BATH. If I'm going to hit windows with etch in a mop (spare me the safety lecture) is there a good way to dillute the etch cream to flow through a mop or should I just buy some etch bath online?
@bkbomber and everybody I found the dope nastiest etch on Amazon by searching "graffiti etch". Shits legit and it comes in mop bottle n everything, aint got to worry about mixing or dillutiing or killing yourself and all that fun shit. peep! http://www.amazon.com/Etching-Solution-Crafts-Graffiti-Marker/dp/B00N6W6V4I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1409642935&sr=8-1&keywords=graffiti+etch
if your worried about your name getting heat then you need a new hobby, and yeah etch does ad heat, so if you don't have those nuts don't just jump in there. and "this product" is a scribe. works on glass and metal. looks hella expensive. i make mine from tile bits and bik pins and its hella safer than etch bath. not to mention easier. i fucked with etch bath when i was a kid. tried to mix it different ways. tried putting it in mops with everything from regular mop nibs to weird rubber mop nibs. i never got any good "convenient" method and i never learned to like it. it is hella effective. talk about staying up... but yeah its a pain in the ass from all angles. fuck the shit, get a scribe, skinnier tags but the last just as long and are way easier than dealing with hydrochloric acid.
yo those etch bath pics are bogus. etch is sick bottom line. eats metal eats glass and is always dope. if you're saying etch is dumb you've probably never seen a etch tag done on metal. but regardless if you're a toy dont even bother. one it'll be on a glass/tile/metal surface for as long as the object is there. two its a felony offense if caught pretty much anywhere. three if your hand style is trash IT'LL BE THERE FOREVER which if you're asking what etch is or how to use it you probably havent been around graff long enough to use such a thing. just don't. its not nearly as dangerous as everyone says as long as you're not stupid. further more buying an etching tool is stupid. go to any hardware store a get a diamond tipped dremel bit its literally the same thing. also carbonite drill bits are okay. but the dremel bits are dope. also etch cream is stupid af. its a waste of time.
if you're sitting on a pile of etch cream and you dont know what to do with it. YES you can thin it with vinegar. but its also stupid. but if you must. pour some vinegar in a plastic cup doesn't matter what kind of vinegar it is despite what you've heard. get a stick or a paint stir. scoop the etch cream into the vinegar and stir. keep adding the cream until its like just thin enough to run through a mop. etch cream sucks and you're taking its potency away by thinning it in a weak acid like vinegar so try to get as much etch cream into the mixture as possible. also take the valve out of the mop nib when you fill it.
I do like etching is a good way to be permanent and actually sort of the idea of graffiti roots come from vandalism, so I don't see the point of throwing shit at it. u like you use you don't well you don't, the end. Here in my country you can find some graffiti stores that sell mops with etching liquid, you can buy the liquid also in some art supply stores. If you know how to use runny inks and a mop you can have fun with it. Actually if you store it in a mop and you don't squeeze it like crazy will not be dangerous, obviously those pictures posted before are from dumb people who used it bare handed or with direct contact to the liquid. I carry sometimes a mop with some liquid in my pocket and never had problems as long as you're careful and use your brain no bad things can happen to you. I've never tried to mix it with some chrome spray paint or something like it, have anyone tried this mix? how does it go? any pictures of etched glass tags??
Why even comment on etch if you think its fucked up....you tellin me you only hit legal walls....etch can be buffed out and is cheaper to fix than to cover the quality paint real artists use. If you know how to use etch it just as much a form of art and expression. Fuck if its vandalism you start on the street get your rep/credit then you get work doing etch art i did it idgaf ima vandal i pay my taxes
