    Hello,
I am new on this. I plan to start with a filigree on the stairs' walls. How and on what surface can I make a stencil?

If you work with aerosol paints, the main requirement for the surface is that it must have a dense structure, be smooth and dry. For example, stencil images perfectly fit on stone, metal, polished or just dry and smooth wood (furniture facades), plastic, glass of various types, including plexiglass and mirrors, ceramics, painted walls and some other types of surfaces. But, for example, to put an image on a fabric, you will need special paints for the fabric. And the fabric must be dense and smooth (you cannot apply the pattern on a terry towel or woolen sweater).
Do not screen stencils on wet, loose, or overly gyroscopic surfaces.
