i got one of those huge ass pilot golds today, i think it was a waste of pocket space. and i got 3 pilot whites, also a waste i think.

 

its called a pm genius. but yeah the pilot gold dont work the greatest and the whites need to be shaken really good and pumped alot to work decent. so overall it was a waste

 

Anyone have any questions on marker mods these days?


The Ghetto Marsh 99 brought up another marker idea involving PVC piping but I havent been able to go to the hardware store lately..

nah i was asking about the ghetto marsh 99 and if u knew any mods for a pilot gold and pilot white. they both have pump systems but for some reason the white ones seem to lose all ink in like one letter

 

The white is quite often VERY oil based. Kind of like the paint inside of a jumbo white sharpie paint marker.

It may have something to do with how you store it. Storing the marker tip down may help with the problem you are having with the paint.

Pumping the paint into the nib vigorously may not do anything but only provide enough paint for one letter, and leaving just the oil base in the nib

i cant get a good flick but its not that opaque, i had a pentel white and it was like that too. maybe its normal?

 

For whites, it is normal.

White is apparently a more difficult color to make in the factories so it's loaded down with oil to help keep it streak free and such, when you can get it all in the nib, that is.
