anyways, i don't live in montreal.. but ive come to find that the stuff that used to be up, like old school sake/damo/loes/shok is my favorite stuff.. they just killed walls, like 6 bombs in a row all different writers, gaaang style. anyone else agree?

...It's good to see that some people understand.

I'm not going to bore you with the whole process but do you think we just show up on some Saturday in August and start painting? There is a lot of planning, including, obviously, getting permission from the building and parking lot owners, they could be influenced by the merchant's association, which can be influenced by the police, who can be influenced by the city. Rub one of them the wrong way and it falls down the chain to directly have an effect on us. Example, we and they know that graffiti will happen(on the buildings we don't use) throughout the year but they're not stupid. They know that graffiti happening around the time of the event is because people are trying to get up for the event.

Have you ever noticed that the police generally steer clear of the event? They could make things reeeal uncomfortable for us and you guys by having some cops patrolling on foot, all day, all over the event, hence our volunteers/security asking people to leave the site when they're drinking booze or smoking pot.

Anyways, I'm rambling but there's even more to it, just like trying to get writers to respect the property of people who allow other writers to piece on their walls.
