That rule is pretty ambiguous. A person can theoretically only use three colors but, end up with a wide range after blending/ overlapping. I personally used only three colors but, a variety of tools for those colors and did not include white or black in that equation since white and black are not colors.
@vigostar I respect you, homie, but black and white are colors in my opinion. That said, I did use purple ballpoint pen over yellow and it looked different from purple. I get layering and how it could be ambiguous. I am fairly certain those rules were created to force people to highlight their letter structure and not hide it behind fills and effects. Perhaps you and I both are overstepping.
I get it and I believe that many people will have the same interpretation but, the fact is that white and black are not colors. Working for a law firm for 17 years has taught me the power of words and I took advantage of the ambiguous language in the rules and approached my artwork in that manner.
Usually in comps like these its 3 other colours.. Black and White dont count. Pencil or marker is fine. 1. 1 flat colour (blue) 2. ect. 3.ect.
Thanks man. Alot of talented people on here. I'm just trying to get better as I go. It's good all skill levels can post.
